Last week, I shared what inspired me to start Unbridled Change. This week, I want to focus on what it takes to keep Unbridled Change thriving and rocking out its mission every day with every client that walks into our arena or office. What keeps us growing and becoming stronger every year is the collective inspiration, creativity, and soul passions of our staff (humans and horses), board, volunteers, and clients.
I’m excited to announce that Unbridled Change is looking to add 2-3 new members to the Board of Director and a few special committee members as well! We are looking for people who feel called to volunteer their amazing talents and join the collective movement of our mission- lasting change and true healing. By becoming a part of Unbridled Change, you become a part of an organization that is making a measurable contribution to changing the lives of others in our community.
There are many different types of Boards of Directors out there so I wanted to share a little about ours. I am also going to share what the duties of the Board of Directors are outside of the basic oversight role. We are looking for individuals that are ready to dedicate their time (about 10 hours a month), talents, and treasures to help strengthen and grow Unbridled Change. Our Board is responsible for:
- Supporting all fundraising efforts through creating, organizing and hosting events. These funds fill our scholarship program which enables us to serve clients that are not able to pay the full rate for our services.
- Being advocates for Unbridled Change, our mission, and our program within their community and their circles of influence – sharing about our mission, asking for support – financial/in-kind/attending fundraisers.
- Helping us create new community partnerships that allow our mission to spread beyond the paddocks and arena and into diverse areas such as executive board rooms, classrooms, and community rooms throughout the Roanoke Valley that our mission of empowering and healing would benefit!
We also have both special committee member volunteers (such as Derby Party volunteers) and program based volunteers that are great ways to start volunteering on either the administrative or program side of Unbridled Change. Click here for a complete list of ways to support Unbridled Change.
Unbridled Change is entering into its second decade of service! Our mission and message are expanding to help support our clients in all aspects of their healing journey – mind, body, and soul. If you have been looking for an organization to support and one you can make an impact in, Unbridled Change might be the right fit. ☺ To learn more about our mission and programs visit our website at www.UnbridledChange.org . Sending light and love on your journey — Michelle
